The opening of the New Hotel Athens marks the first hotel project for award-winning designer-duo, the Campana brothers. Humberto and Fernando Campana, known for their Brazilian carnival-themed designs for everything from furniture to shoes, took inspirations from traditional Greek themes. With the help of students from University of Thessaly, the brothers wove these themes in to the 79 rooms and public spaces of the Hotel. Keeping some of the original features of the building, such as black marble staircase, they have also integrated their handmade chairs and lamps.
